"Unicorn" from the period around 1880

Hand-carved solid wood sculpture "Unicorn" from around 1880. The beautiful object comes from a Frankish castle, near Nuremberg. It hung there over a door arch for many years. Originally the sculpture was completely painted in white. The wing of the castle was empty for a few years and was not heated. Due to the temperature fluctuations, the socket is crackled and parts of the socket have loosened. The loose color pieces were carefully removed and the surface was smoothed. As a result, the surface now looks like feasting. This look goes very well with the beautiful and very unusual object! You can easily combine the unicorn as a design object with modern art or images. In any case an eye-catcher, unique and absolute original of the time around 1880! The unicorn has the life size of a horse's head. The horn has a length of 35cm.
