Museum "Stibbert" in Florence

The "Stibbert" weapons collection in Florence makes the heart beat faster for every collector and lover of historical armor and weapons. The art collector Federico Stibbert (1838-1906) assembled one of the largest collections of weapons in the world in his villa on the Montughi hill in Florence. Mainly Western European armor, helmets and weapons are shown in the exhibition. There are also some oriental, Indian and Japanese armor and weapons included. A whole army platoon on horseback and in full armor can be seen in the great hall. The collection is huge. Unfortunately, a visit is only possible with a guided tour. The bulk of the visitors are unfortunately uninterested visitors who just "gossip" quickly. We spoke to the museum guide and made it clear that we came especially for the collection and are very interested. She then slowed down the pace significantly and told the uninterested visitors some stories. So we had more time to enjoy this beautiful collection! So it is worth speaking to the museum staff beforehand! This collection is an absolute must for any interested collector! We recommend!!!
