Bidenhanders, German, dated 1597

Bidenhänder, with "flamed" blade, German, dated 1597. On the blade engraving, warrior with raised sword and crossed swords. On the other Klingenseite fighting eagle against snake, sun symbol and dating 1597. The misalignment still partial with original leather-related thin wood. Paring bar typical of forged worm-like awnings. The original wooden handle has shrunk and so the paring rod has some play. The leather on the handle is also original. The sword is in all parts original and also from the time. It is probably a recital or ceremonial sword. Beautiful and decorative piece. Length: sat.
