Earlier pears helmet, German to 1580. One-piece forged bell small typical Spitz extension and circumferential brim. All around beautiful brass decorative rosettes. Verso riveted spout for the plume and beside beautiful wrought brand. Interior obtain original finish. This helmet is much more massive and more beautiful work than the later two-part Birnhelme / Protect hoods that have been used in the Thirty Years' War. Very beautiful, early and heavy old quality.
